“How does a white man enslave my land?”

The struggle is one.

The enemy is one.

The man in this work is standing in defiance

Behind him, the Imperial Empire is portrayed as a machine with visuals of aggressive capitalism, excessive consumerism & Western imperialism

The Empire must separate the struggles of the oppressed for it to survive

But the freedom fighters of the world share the same liberation struggle against the same oppressive & exploitative ruling class Empire

The man in this work is wearing a Palestinian Kufiyeh, a Black Panthers scarf, & the feathers worn by a Native American warrior. He is adorned with medicinal plants used by native warriors & enslaved black ancestors to heal themselves in slavery, where medication without approval by the enslaver was an act punishable by death

This work reveres the free African & Palestinian men who knotted together in struggle & strategy.

It references Sudanese-Libyan Poet Muhammad AlFayturi, Frantz fanon, Malcom X, Congolese Patrice Lumumba & it pays homage to George Jackson, a Black Panther who turned to Palestinian poetry of resistance, by Samih AlQassem, in prison before he was assassinated.

The Palestinian Sunbird stands on a Ferguson riot smoke grenade.

Moments of intentional togetherness

A connection born out of a shared recognition of oppression & resistance

The same bullet that assassinated Malcolm X could have been used to kill Samih or Patrice; Today we see the same tear gas & weapons shipped around the world for wars against the people.

This work addresses concepts of: assimilation, imperialism, capitalism, police & colonial surveillance

This artwork intends to “Break the Law” — the law of the imperialist, of the colonizer — used to steal the lives of our people, to grab our land, to justify our imprisonment, repression & criminalization.

The law of capitalism, & exploitation

Solidarity is capable of dismantling systems of oppression

The Empire machine knows; it fears our actions; it fears our ideas

It deeply fears that we can truly build an alternative world for our people

The Empire is going down

يقف الرجل في هذا العمل متحديًا الإمبراطورية

خلفه، تعمل الإمبراطورية كآلة مليئه بالرأسمالية العدوانية، الاستهلاك المفرط، والإمبريالية الغربية

يجب على الإمبراطورية أن تفصل بين نضالات المضطهدين حتى تتمكن من البقاء

لكن مقاتلي الحرية في العالم يشتركون في نفس نضال التحرير ضد نفس الطبقة الحاكمة القمعية والاستغلالية الإمبراطورية

يرتدي الرجل في هذا العمل كوفية فلسطينية، ووشاحًا يحمل شعار الفهود السود، والريش المحارب الأمريكي الأصلي. ملابسه مزينه بالنباتات الطبية التي استخدمها المحاربون الأصليون والأجداد السود المستعبدون لعلاج أنفسهم في العبودية، حيث كان العلاج دون موافقة المالك عملاً يعاقب عليه بالإعدام

يحكي هذا العمل عن الرجال الأفارقة والفلسطينيين الأحرار الذين تعاونوا معًا في النضال والاستراتيجية.

و يشير إلى الشاعر السوداني الليبي محمد الفيتوري، وفرانز فانون، ومالكوم إكس، والكونغولي باتريس لومومبا، و يكرم جورج جاكسون، الفهد الأسود الذي لجأ إلى الشعر الفلسطيني المقاوم، لسامح القاسم، للاستلهام في السجن قبل اغتياله.

لحظات من الترابط الواعي

اتصال نشأ عن اعتراف مشترك بالقمع والمقاومة

من الممكن استخدام نفس الرصاصة التي اغتالت مالكولم إكس لقتل سامح أو باتريس؛ واليوم نرى نفس الغاز المسيل للدموع والأسلحة تُشحن حول العالم للحروب ضد الشعوب.

يتناول هذا العمل مفاهيم عن: الخضوع، الإمبريالية، الرأسمالية، الشرطة والمراقبة الاستعمارية

يهدف هذا العمل الفني إلى "كسر القانون" - قانون الإمبريالي، قانون المستعمر – الذي استخدم لسرقة حياة شعبنا، والاستيلاء على أرضنا، وتبرير سجننا وقمعنا وتجريمنا.

قانون الرأسمالية والاستغلال

التضامن قادر على تفكيك أنظمة القمع

الآلة الإمبراطورية تعرف ذلك؛ فهي تخشى أفعالنا؛ وتخشى أفكارنا

إنها تخشى بشدة أن نتمكن من بناء عالم بديل

الإمبراطورية تتجه نحو الانهيار
